Bamboo Bass Festival Costa Rica takes place in a little slice of paradise known as Jaco Beach – an exotic beach town on the west coast of Costa Rica with golden sunsets, vibrant nightlife, surrounded by lush jungle. We’ve built this guide to help you guide here.

If you’re flying international to Bamboo Bass Festival Costa Rica, you’ll be booking your flight to the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose- SJO. We’ll leave it to you to find the best deals, but Google Flights will help you find the best option.

Travelling to Costa Rica is like any country, you can’t just show up with your Bamboo Bass Festival ticket and tell customs you’re ready to go. You will be required to have a passport and a flight or bus ticket out of the country when entering Costa Rica. Be prepared to pay $29US leaving the country. It’s roughly an hour and half drive from San Jose Airport to Jaco and Bamboo Bass Festival Costa Rica. Depending on your budget, there’s a few options to get yourselves there. For the safest, most convenient ways to travel we recommend the following: Here are your options:

Airport Shuttle to Jaco

Bamboo Bass Festival Costa Rica will have shuttles available for pickup from SJO. Book your shuttle ticket (hyperlink to ticket site). Services will run three times throughout the day in the morning, afternoon and evening.
Arrival Dates: Feb 11-17
Shuttle Times for Arrivals: 11am, 6pm, 11pm daily (*** Last Friday Shuttle to the festival is 11am on Feb 16th)
Departure Dates: Feb 20-23
Shuttle Times for Departure: 6am, 11am, 6pm daily


Hire a Red Airport Taxi for a quick ride out of the airport to Jaco. These taxis will cost you anywhere from $75 to $100 USD depending on how good you are hustling. You’ll be able to find these cabs outside the airports exit.

Car Rentals

If you want the convenience of easy travel during your stay, we recommend renting a vehicle from the airport. This is a pricier option and there are a few options to rent from. Just remember that this is a foreign country with different rules of the road and driving styles. Do your research before driving and be sure to have a GPS. Where to Stay During Bamboo Bass Festival Jaco Costa Rica

The Bamboo Bass festival venue(hyperlink to the venue page) is a 15 minute ride from the centre of Jaco. If you’re not camping on site, there are a variety of accommodation options depending on what your budget is.

Camping On Site ($)

Camping on-site is the most affordable accommodation option. Campaign will be open from Feb 16th to Feb 19th. Please see our camping guidelines and what to expect. Tickets are available for $40 – purchase here

Hostels ($$)

$15 to $30 per night

The Beach

There are going to be few sunsets you find more rewarding than what you find on Jaco Beach. The beach is 4km long and the perfect place to spend the day working on a tan and hanging out. Rent surfboards in town at the local surf shops or just hang out with a beverages.

Restaurants Bars & Nightlife

Jaco has a vibrant main strip that’s bustles with the activity of storefronts, restaurants and people passing by. The night life here is awesome, and the bars are full of tourists and Tico’s that make for an amazing time. You won’t be bored unless you try. Check out tripadvisor for a great list of places.
